Merry Christmas!

Well it's that time of day again - lunch. It's also that time of year - Christmas. Most excellent.
Can anyone tell me: what's it like celebrating Christmas if you're not a Christian. As a Christian I can't quite imagine, but i guess it must be like your celebrating someone elses day. Kind of like if Ramadan got really popular amongst athiests and we all celebrated it. I don't know. Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone.

It's like celebrating family, giving and joy without religion really

and I guess a bit like celebrating the winter solstice and other festivals like before Christmas came along, except more commercialised by Coca Cola.

I think it really has to be asked whether the holidays really have any religious connection anymore. I mean if u asked a kid what Christmas was for he would say "presents"- not celebrating the birth of Christ. All holidays are the result of over commercialisation (?). I think it makes much more sense to see Christmas as a break from work and a time to spend time with friends and family instead of celebrating an individual who may or may not have existed all those years ago. But of course this is more of a precursor to a bigger topic I don't want to disucuss - "Is there room for religion in the 21st Century?".
